About the use of OBD Driver

Using the app for the first time.
The following are the steps for using the app for the first time.
1. Download and Install the OBD Driver into your device.
2. Connect the OBD Bluetooth device to OBD2 connector in your vehicle.
3. Turn on a key "IG-ON".
4. Do the "Pairing of Bluetooth". ( first time of use )
4.1 Press the menu button at home screen, and then choose the "settings" and "Wireless & networks".
4.2 Turn on the Bluetooth, then go to "Bluetooth settings".
4.3 Choose the "Scan for devices".
4.4 Choose the OBD Bluetooth device from list.
4.5 Input the security code "1234" or "0000".
4.6 If pairing is successful, go to the home screen.
5. Start "OBD Driver" app.
6. The app show the OBD Bluetooth device list.
7. Choose the device that you do the pairing a little while ago.
8. When the application start a communication with an OBD device via bluetooth, the app show the opening earth screen.
9. When the application start a communication with a vehicle via OBD device, the purple bar go to the right edge.
10. If the purple bar doesn't go to right edge, press the "Protocol settings" button and then choose a communication protocol from list.
11. If an "Available!" dialog is displayed, please follow a message in a dialog.
12. When you finish a procedure of getting license, the app show a state of license.
13. Press the "Show application" button.
※ The step 4. in above is necessary first time of use only.
※ The "Pairing of Bluetooth procedure" is different in Android OS or device.

Pairing of Bluetooth
Pairing of Bluetooth is necessary to communicate with OBD Bluetooth device at the terminal which installed application. Please read the instruction manual of terminal or the OBD Bluetooth device.

Communication protocol
If the communication error is displayed at the time of application start, the communication method (protocol) may not accord with your car. Please touch the "Protocol settings" button of the terminal with an opening earth screen, and please choose a communication protocol in the protocol menu screen.

Adjustment driving
The adjustment driving is necessary to adjust a gas mileage measurement error. Please input the distance and the refueling quantity after you drive your car more than 200km.
Please do not delete the "Trip Mileage" during the adjustment driving.

SD card or Micro-SD card.
The application uses the SD card of the terminal for the following purpose.
1. Store the driving log file.
2. Store the drive record file.
3. Read the configuration file.
To use these files, you must create the following directory (or a file) to the SD card before you launch the application. Please create these directories with PCs.
Please create a directory "obd_driver_workspace" in the root directory (the top directory) of the SD card. And please create two directories of "settings" and "logs" in "obd_driver_workspace" which you made.

This is a directory for customization. It stores background image files and configuration file (config.xml) and so on. If you do not customize this application, you leave this directory empty.
The "config.xml" file is necessary to customize the application. Please read the following description about it. |

This is the directory that the driving log file and drive record file are stored.

※ The application is available even if you do not create the directory mentioned above. But it is necessary to create a directory to do the file output and customization mentioned above.

the customization
You can customize the screen display and alarm function and so on in detail. Let's make an unique gas mileage meter.
To customize the application, please create the directory mentioned above to the SD card. And please make the "config.xml" configuration file in the "settings" directory.

Please store the image file and the sound file in "settings" directory same as "config.xml".
※ Please note.
※ Please use the image file that is fit for the screen size of your device. If you specify the high-resolution image file like a digital camera, the application becomes slow by lack of memory of the device. And movement of the application may become unstable.
※ Please use the sound file that is short music time. We recommend a time that is within one second.
※ When you customized the application, the launch of the application is very slow, or the application can not launch, please change the name of the "config.xml" file to "config.bak". It invalidate settings.

Note.
1. During the application running, do not remove (or unmount) the SD card from the device. Or do not connect the device to a PC via USB. The application can not read and write to the SD card, and the application may become unstable.
2. During the application running, do not turn off the device. Please turn off the device after you stop this application.
